They spend their lives under the limelight, and, sometimes, even their deaths are the subject of unrelenting media scrutiny. Here are 10 of the still unsolved celebrity death cases.
Well, some of them might be solved as far as authorities are concerned, but for the public, they’re still shrouded in mystery.
10 /10 Diana, Princess Of Wales
Everybody knows of the tragic fate of the People’s Princess. Lady Di died in a horrible car crash in Paris in 1997.
The car crash was real, no doubt about that, hordes of paparazzi witnessed it, still to this day many think Diana was murdered, together with her lover Dodi al-Fayed.
Lady Di had already stated she feared for her life, and she had reasons. There were rumors she was pregnant and about to get married to a Muslim. Now that would have been a tad awkward for the royal family.
9 /10 Virgina Rappe
This is a century-old mystery. Virginia Rappe was one of the first movie stars, back when they made only silent films. The beautiful young woman died in 1921 after suffering horrific internal injuries.
It seems she was savagely beaten at a party hosted by a guy called Roscoe’ Fatty’ Arbuckle, himself a star of the silent film era.
Arbuckle stood trial for Rappe’s murder three times, but he was never convicted. However, the murder ended his career, and he died of a heart attack. Call that divine justice, if you want.
8 /10 Natalie Wood
One of her generation’s most beautiful actresses, Natalie Wood, drowned in mysterious circumstances in 1981. At the time, she was on a boating trip with her husband, actor Robert Wagner, and a friend, who heard them arguing.
Wood’s body was found floating in the water later than night. The body had several bruises on it, which led investigators to suspect foul play.
Wagner was and remained the prime suspect this day, but there’s not enough evidence for him to be arrested. In 2018, the boat’s skipper claimed that Wagner killed Natalie Wood, but nothing happened. Wagner is 91 years old now.
7 /10 Notorious B.I.G.
Rapper Christopher Wallace, aka Notorious B.I.G., was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in L.A., barely six months after the murder of his rival, Tupac Shakur, who died in similar circumstances in Las Vegas.
To this day, many people are convinced there’s a link between the two murders. No one was arrested or charged with the murder, and later his widow filed a lawsuit against LAPD, arguing it was their fault her husband was killed.
