We’ve all heard the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. She went into their home, ate their food, and slept in their beds, and in the end, she was caught, and they all gobbled her up.
The story teaches the important lesson of respecting the space and property of others.
Most importantly, it teaches a vital lesson about bears. They will gobble. You. Up. Bears are beasts that deserve our respect and avoidance at all costs.
Even the most kindly seeming bear can overpower any man, no matter how strong he is, and tear him apart.
Such a thing happened to an unfortunate couple—one who had a fascination with nature, with animals, and with bears. Tim “Grizzly Man” Treadwell was the victim of this Goldilocks scenario.
He came to wear the bears lived, and papa bear found him and gobbled him up. Alive.
10 /10 An Early Fixation
Ever since he was a child, Timothy loved teddy bears. He grew up with a childlike attraction to bears and animals due to his surroundings. His only exposure to nature from early on was in the safest possible form: commercialized and soft.
When he grew older, he kept that innocent fascination and ended up treating real animals the same way: like toys, he could control.
9 /10 Addiction To Danger
Before becoming a staunch activist, Timothy suffered from addiction to heroin. He grew up in New York with a dysfunctional, broken family until he moved to Long Beach, California, where his drug use began. He started vacationing in Alaska each year to meet the bears and get closer to them.
He documented his trips and sold the footage to pay for more extended stays, creating a compelling and deadly cycle that led to his demise.
