It seems that Adam Curlykale will stop at nothing to achieve his “look.” He has even gone to the extreme length of having his nipples and genitals removed because they “interfered with the aesthetic enjoyment” he wanted to experience.

He has been driven by his passion for tattoos and desperately wanted a full-body tattoo. The 32-year-old man from Kaliningrad, Russia posted photos of himself post-surgery on Facebook with the words,

“I’ve just had a nullification surgery, had a lot of bleeding but luckily no need for a blood transfusion. Veronica is with me and she’s taking care of me.” He posed under a white blanket in his hospital bed and flashed a peace sign to his followers.

A Difficult Early Life

Adam, 33, was born with albinism, a congenital disorder that results in a complete or partial absence of pigment in skin, eyes, and hair. He became addicted to tattooing as a way to change his skin color.

Adam Curlykale, 33, has painted 90 percent of his body – including his eyeballs – in jet-black ink after getting diagnosed with cancer ten years ago.

Following the cancer diagnosis at the age of 22, he decided to cover his body in his favorite color – grey. His tattoos are in different tones of grey, with his skin color predominantly graphite.

Although he is currently cancer-free, his immune system is still very weak after the treatment he received for cancer of the large intestine when he was 22 years old.

Tattoos Make Me Feel Beautiful

He designs the tattoos himself and he has a plan to cover his entire body in tattoos one step at a time. Getting inked provides Adam with a sense of satisfaction and wellbeing. This is his unique way of enjoying his life.

“Life is so short that I stopped wondering what will happen tomorrow. Life is here and now,” he said. Adam Curlykale had his first tattoo at the age of 20. It was a very succinct message on his arm: “I am.”

“I always knew that I was different from the rest of society,” he told The Irish Post.

After surviving cancer, Adam became depressed about the ugly blemishes that had been left on his skin following his treatment.

He turned to tattoos as a way of covering them up and making himself feel better, and that was the beginning of the addiction.

“I did not accept myself and others did not accept me. Tattoos allowed me to discover myself again. I became beautiful to myself,” he told his fans.

Nipples And Genitals Were Removed For Full-Body Tattooing

Now the tattoo obsessive has taken the bizarre step of having his nipples and genitals removed to create the look he desires. He has shared naked photos of his “new body” using s*x toys to cover where his penis used to be.

Now, he has covered 90% of his body in tattoos, including his eyeballs which he injected with black ink. But, after twelve years of inking his body, he was still not happy with the results.

He has shared intimate photos of his graphite body with fans following his dramatic surgery. Concealing his groin with handcuffs and a whip, he said:

“I’m not afraid of nudity as I’m not afraid of people!”

Why Did Adam Go To Such Extreme Lengths?

The obvious question that comes to mind is “Why?” Why would someone want to go to such extreme lengths to change how they look?

Although a rare occurrence, psychologists say that some men decide to undergo penectomies due to a body dysmorphic disorder.

It is interesting to note that a sect of devout Christians in Russia, called Skoptsy, underwent “greater castration” (removal of the penis). This was done to get rid of feelings of lust and assist them in achieving a pure state as man had before original sin.

Adam is a practicing psychologist, barber, and singer, in addition to being a tattoo artist. He has also used his extraordinary look to become a successful alternative model. He explained to reporters how he sees himself now.

“I belong to a type of people called ‘nullo’ which means that I’m an agamic person, but as*xual doesn’t mean that I don’t have a s*x drive.”

People from the ‘nullo’ community don’t want to have body parts like nipples, a belly button or genitals which determine if you’re a man or a woman,” he clarified. Not surprisingly, extreme surgery has not come without difficulties.

He has found that using the toilet without genitals is painful. He has had to reinsert a catheter, but despite the discomfort, he is still happy with his decision.

“Looking at my genitals I felt abhorrence and abomination.”

Procedure Performed In A Mexican Hospital

The nullification procedure was performed at Jardines Hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico. Adam now identifies himself as a “nullo”, meaning someone who has had their genitalia and nipples surgically removed. He tweeted after the procedure:

“I’ve just had a nullification surgery, had a lot of bleeding but luckily no need for a blood transfusion.”

He was supported by a network of friends and fans when he had his nullification surgery.

One of the photo captions said, “Supporting one another” and “Transs*xual & Nullo – we’re in this together.” Adam had had almost all of his body tattooed now, including his face and eye-balls, which were done with black ink.

He perceives people like him are not accepted by the mass media or society in general. They are afraid to promote body modifications. He has also had several piercings.

It is not surprising that the general public does not understand his motivations and choices, but Adam has now grown in confidence and has started designing tattoos for the remaining parts of his body that have not yet been inked.
